ENERGY SYSTEMS

There are 3 energy systems that your body uses to create energy from ATP (the energy currency in the human body). The ‘Immediate’ (ATP-PC), ‘Anaerobic’ (Glycolytic) and ‘Aerobic’ systems.

Please note, both the ATP-PC and Glycolytic systems create energy without the presence of oxygen, so can both be termed Anaerobic. However, it is common practice to only refer to the Glycolytic system as the ‘Anaerobic’ system.
